Mindfullness based Stress reduction session by : Dr. Fernando Mendoza, m.d. |

Mindfullness is an ancient practice that cultivates the hability to pay attention , on a moment to moment base, to thoughts, feelings and body sensations in a steady , free of judgement and flexible manner. Its regular practice promotes peacefullness and opens internal pathways for reducing stress and pain. Modeled on the University of Massachussett's stress reduction and relaxation program, this five-day intensive retreat is an invitation for individuals interested in the adventure and challenge of self-exploration and transformation, for those who wish to taste and explore news ways of knowing and new ways of being - not someone else's but one's own moment to moment experience. These new ways of knowing and being can make a huge difference in one's life as a leader, an innovator, a creator, a person embedded in the warp and woof of personal, family, and professional life. Past participants have been unanimous in their enthusiastic responses to this retreat. As one past participant put it: "I was concerned about whether I could afford to take five days out of my life, but found, instead, that I was taking five days into my life that could enrich the rest of my days--and moments." The retreat affords the opportunity to explore the power of mindfulness -- moment-to-moment, non-judgmental attention -- for expanding our capacity to see, to learn, and to grow, both as individuals and as leaders. The retreat includes periods of guided instruction in a number of meditation practices, periods of silent exploration, and periods of collective inquiry and dialogue, all aimed at cultivating deep, penetrative awareness and insight, and the creativity that flows from them. This retreat will be conducted by Dr. Fernando Mendoza, m.d. , graduate of the Medical faculty of the University of Coahuila (Mexico) and graduate of the University of Massachussett's stress reduction and relaxation program . In the last 15 years of medical practices, his desire to redefine human suffering (from the source to its inner and outer relief) has led him to explore and practice the comtemplative meditative arts and their integration into established medical practices.
