I don't speak a single word in Spanish, can I still travel to Mexico?
Mexicans are used to tourists. Those who earn a living from the travel industry can usually get by in English (sometimes very well) and if not you will quickly learn to express your needs in Spanish; at the end of a week you will have learned how to ask for directions, eat and get pricing.

AtPuerto Morelos, as well as in some other areas, French is also spoken.

Are there risks for camera equipment?
You have to be careful with camera equipment as with other valuable... but if you keep it on you, there should'nt be a problem..

Is it dangerous to travel alone in Cancun and the rest of the country?
As in all big cities, you can be robbed on a street corner. To prevent this, we advise you to be careful at night on the street without attracting attention to yourself. However, in the tourist zones, there is virtually no risk.

What vaccines do I need?

Are buses reliable?
Your transportation will take longer than if you rented a car but you will be comfortable and it is relatively cheaper.

Recommendations


Here are a few practical recommendations to ensure a nice vacation.

· Never drink tap water and avoid ice cubes. Buy bottled water or boil it for about 20 minutes.

· If you have a weak stomach, avoid crudités or fruits that you cannot peel. (ex. the lettuce that sometimes
  accompanies your meal) or wash them thoroughly.

· Leave jewelley and valuable items in a safe place.

· Make a photocopy of your passport, your return ticket and your credit cards so that you can cancel them
  quickly in case of theft.

· Only bring the necessary cash and credit cards; there are ATM's on site. Write down your travellers
  checks numbers, your purchases made with a credit card and the coordinates of your insurance.
